Well, its official –

The Two Rivers Gallery Board voted last night to break from its affiliate relationship with the Wenatchee Valley Museum & Cultural Center. The gallery is approaching its 4th anniversary as a successful non-profit co-operative for area visual artists. The Museum Board has encouraged the separation that will be official at 5pm on Jan 15th.

Two Rivers Gallery will soon have its letter of determination from the IRS that will establish itself as a 501 C 3 non-profit entity with federal tax deductibility.

The gallery was established in 2008 by artists and the Museum to provide a place for visual artists to show their artworks, teach & learn from each other, & offer an art experience to the community. The Museum & the gallery initiated Wenatchee's "First Friday" art walk that continues today. The gallery has First Friday receptions that include local & regional artists, live music by musicians and local wines from member wineries of Wenatchee Wine Country.

Two Rivers Gallery has grown to over 100 members. The community supports the arts with almost two dozen business supporting members that see value in encouraging local culture. The gallery has a number of partners throughout the valley. Artist members have ongoing exhibits at the Wenatchee Valley Senior Activity Center & the Cottage Inn Restaurant. We partner with the Performing arts Center & Wenatchee Valley Symphony Orchestra with small exhibits at their concerts.

Two Rivers Gallery offers an annual Business membership is $125 that includes recognition of a business as a supporter of the visual arts. Annual membership for artists & other supporters is $45. They average around 40 monthly artists who exhibit their paintings, sculptures, glass, fabric, jewelry, pottery, cards & other artworks. Exhibiting artists pay $10 a month to show & there is a 30% commission on sales. The gallery has also depended on the grants provided by the Community Foundation, the Icicle Fund, & Wenatchee Arts Commission. Presently a troll is being considered for placement under the walking bridge at the bottom of 1st Street. The exhibit of Ginger Reddington's encaustic paintings will continue to be shown through Jan/Feb. The Two Rivers Gallery Board voted last night to establish winter hours until March 1st. The gallery will be open Thursday through Sunday and be closed on Wednesdays.
