I sometimes pull over a few miles before this light and turn off my lights. Its amazing! Looks like the lights of Wenatchee, but in the opposite direction.But i think its annoying to the neighbors! Some people.

Yep that's the one. It's like driving by the Gorge only it's a house on Badger Mountain Rd. Like I said before it's like looking at the glare of the lights in Wenatchee only it's a home in the opposite direction. Someones a tad bit paranoid!!! Not only does he have video surveillance signs, but audio too. I noticed he has game cameras on some tree trunks along the highway. Watch out they're out there syndrome.

I figured it was that place, I have a relative that lives close to this gentleman. I heard about the paranoia and shooting the dog with a pellet gun. I have also heard he likes to call different county agencies and pester them with complaints about various neighbors as he thinks he is the badger mtn police. He sounds like a loose cannon waiting to blow.

A group of neighbors 8 of us will be paying the prosecutor a visit AGAIN! To see if he will do something about the recent sex Charge on his desk! We will most likely be asked to leave! and he will expose himself again to a child! or fulfill his statement to the sheriff (in righting by narrative)that "he is going to shoot a neighbor with his 45".At least continue to terrorize the neighbors.. a County lawsuit could be justice.

Is this is the same guy that completely blocked hummingbird rd with vehicles/tractor at the pavement,saying all the neighbors have to make a new road to access there homes?Then sat in his drive to make certain no one drove there kids to the bus stop with a shirt on that had a gun pointed at you.hollering to the neighbors that it was his rite as an American! Nice way to make friends...NOT! I remember the sheriff Gesdal Patrolman at the time said they were not getting involved and it was in the winter and no one could access there homes? with kids!!

I have talked with this guy on a couple of occasions; he did have a gun on his hip, he treated me fairly though. I would suggest maybe carrying a video camera and start videoing the guy, see how he likes it and then you have concrete evidence also. Sounds like it’s just a matter of time before he looses it and does something that will put him away for a long time. Good luck with Douglas County, both the Sherriff and Prosecutors as they are both a joke and need to be voted out. Tired of the “good ole boy “routine.

I live 10 acres from this house and my own yard is lit up from the commercial-grade bright lights. The gentleman that lives there has a video surveillance camera recording my own home and yard and I have heard that he has a NFL style listening device to listen to all of his neighbors. He also has a telescope set up in his bedroom window pointed at my residence or whichever neighbor he wants to spy on that day. Privacy must be a luxury of the past because nothing is being done to correct these issues.

I'm coming into this conversation a little late but I had a few thoughts to share. Carrying a gun is the right of every felony-free American, especially if that American is in his own home or on his own property. However exposing one's self to children is NOT, if it happened, report it, the police are required to do something about the situation. Owning and using listening devices on private property in not against any law I'm aware of, neither is the use of game cameras or other security measures. As long as someone's not spying on other people's property, who cares? Shooting dogs is a matter that the Wenatchee Animal Control will gladly explain, if you call and ask. There are rules involved in protecting human and livestock safety from domestic dogs and if you know of a situation where those rules weren't followed, call animal control and the police. If someone's lights are bothering you, try politely talking to your neighbor about the nuisance rather than writing in a blog. If that doesn't work, buy blinds or plant some trees. It sure doesn't seem RIGHT or FAIR to be gossiping online about a neighbor. Being paraniod is not a crime, as long as it doesn't put anyone's personal safety at risk.

As fare as the exposing himself.WE did call the police and they said she didn't have to look:(And the prosecutor will not do a thing! As fare as the animal control.WE have a report demanding the prosecutor to act with the officer and Sergent signed, and with narrative,witnesses and six notarized letters of fear against this man.And we visited the prosecutor he said for us to get out of his office.When we took him to civil court the Judge literally tossed the report from the Animal control to the side and said this doesn't mean anything to me and these people are a joke! Other neighbors were there as witnesses also.Something is going on up here that is wrong and disgusting,and the Sheriff, prosecutor, and judge are supporting it!.

We have the police report that said that this man TOLD THE SHERIFF HE WAS GOING TO SHOOT MY DAD! to the Sheriff!!!!! My dad demanded that he be arrested for the death threat to the Sheriff.They refused in-front of other neighbors!This horrible neighbor has got away with crime after crime after crime including showing himself completely naked to a girl while going to the bus stop in front of his house.It was an ice road that day and the bus didn't pic us up.I am scared bad im afraid he is going to do something sexual or kill us! I hate the Sheriff and prosecutor for not helping all the neighbors on are street. Making us live in fear.I wanted to be a police too,but not now.They hate my dad because he has a Pot scription and won in both counties,after they tried to put him in jail,illegally.BUT WHAT DID MY SISTER DUE TO THEM TO DESERVE THIS.

I'm really not trying to stick up for any one particular person, I'm just trying to remind our neighbors that we are a community. Being a little different is what makes the Mountain a great place to live. Alot of us up here differ slightly in values, personality, courage, strength ect. or we wouldn't have chosen to live up here.

I don't think it's right to be gossiping about neighbors online. I don't live that far from this house and I haven't had a problem with him yet and I doubt I will. (if the lights bother you, talk to him) This whole conversation might look better if people stuck strictly to fact and avoided the 'I heard...or so and so said..."

I'm pretty confident in our police force in Wenatchee. If laws are being broken and you can PROVE it, the authorities will handle the issue. The problem is that writing online and complaining to officials is not proof of any wrong doing.

If you're really that scared of this house maybe it would make it easier on you guys to drive the back way to your houses. Go down chip. trail, take a left and viola! you'll be on your road with minimal fear and two minutes of extra drive time.

What kind of drugs was he getting? He doesn't work and stays home all day calling State and Federal agencies on his neighbors who are doing nothing wrong to him, yet it seems to be our fault that he feels "victimized". I feel victimized by his actions against those of us here that enjoy life, respecting others, and keeping a balance. I also appreciate our neighborhood dogs, all are welcome to enjoy my yard and visit anytime. We live in open range and I appreciate and respect that. Also this neighbor used his high-powered air pellet gun to permanently lodge a pellet in Buddy, my neighbor's beloved family pet and also one of my best friends. The District Court in Douglas Co. also ruled in favor of compensation to Buddy's family after overwhelming evidence that the owner of that blue house shot buddy 25' in front of me while we were walking back from checking the mail and after I had replaced my maibox that this neighbor destroyed by crushing it. There is no need for this type of behavior. We are adults and should be able to live our lives in peace and respect for eachother.

Maybe, Some of you have pissed him off. He is not rude to me and several others I know. You can not live in an "open range", if you mean people and their animals run wild wherever and whenever they want. People have property boundaries and you should respect them. We just moved from the clockum area where it was "open range". We tried to have a garden and a yard- what a joke!! with everybodys dogs,horses, turkeys, peacocks, chickens and you name it, scratching up everything, digging up the garden, with crap everywhere, taking our dogs toys. The animals would even come up the top deck and crap.We put up a wire fence on part of our property and the neighbors acted just like you all.One of our neighbors would walk the perimeter of our fence several times a day to show she didn't like it. They started rumors about us. It was really hard to live there. Sometimes people just want to have their own slice of life by themselves. Just ignore him and leave him be. Don't even stare that way

Yeah I used to live out in the Tarpiscan area. I moved there because i THOUGHT it would be peaceful and I could enjoy the stars, etc. I couldn't have been more wrong. Open rangers, dogs running where ever they please, getting into garbage, peacocks on your porch and garden(so you have to keep your own dog in on your own property) lights on most all night, many from the coasty's that live on the river, guns going off all hours, (never knowing if someone/something getting shot), But one is not allowed to question it unless you're a part of the gang.I questioned a few and they all said the same thing "that's why we live out here, so no one will bother us and we can do what we want". Is that really the way it is out it the county/country?. Maybe the County should drive out there sometime and check what is going on besides wasting some of their time and money searching for pot growing in the Clockum. Oh I'm sure I stepped on a few toes now, Yeah I have seen a county cop or two out there but they are looking for pot growing.
AnywayThe lights on all night really bothered me. They even keep Christmas lights on 12 months a year and on full trees outlining their house, and a minimum of 10 outdoor huge yard lights. How about a little consideration for neighbors. Oh that's right-we're from the class that doesn't give a damn about conservation and consideration that's why we live here. Too bad just a few of you ruin it for so many. So back to civilization for me

This house has MANY cameras pointing at the mail boxes,but wont give up the video to the Postal investigators or Sheriff regarding the seven (7) Mailboxes smashed of the community stand.This guy is the ultimate cop caller,but he wont call them on himself.If he is not the one doing it, then why doesn't he turn in the video from his DVR ?These incidences are in the day time usually mornings,so he has the person doing it on video.Seven times! One neighbor will not be replacing his box again.Some neighbor has to have a PO box in town:(

The thing is that the nearest neighbor is 10 acres away and from the mail boxes 15 acres away.Hes told the judge that he has a telescope digital camera when in court.and we do have cameras but are limited to 100 yard or so.Unless someone lived next to him to catch him in the act.Or unless the prosecutor takes the several eye witnesses at face value,nothing will change and he will continue his harassment.Fact is there was a Sheriff that witnessed his first felony and no charges filed! A neighbor saw one of his shootings of a dog a felony,but no charges filed,Then a 17 year old girl was his next victim with a felony,showing hid penis to her with another witness also.But no charges filed.Will keep everyone upto date on the next felony he gets caught with and gets away with.He does have the same last name as a past Douglas Co. elected Sheriff...Makes me wonder.

One thing that some people do not know is that the court ordered two neighbors to not surveillance this mans property,or make any sounds that can be heard at this mans home.After he called the Police over 30 times in 90 days for various sounds IE people talking,car radios.Playing music.Home stereos.No other neighbors have ever had a problem only him.Although you can hear a feather drop up hear it is so quite and you can hear people talk a 1/2 mile away clearly.The court order, that we all fought, was granted to this man.The Judge was VERRY much on this guys side refusing to let us see his proof letting him slide on many lies he was caught in.And we now the judge is smarter then that.She always catches those.She let him change his lies over and over with no complaint from the judge. and holding a neighbor in contempt of court for ONE COUGH and kicked out of court for the second cough (a witness) that was not aloud to speak. This man had no proof at all nothing.Despite the observance cameras every were.We had eight witnesses, six notarized letters from the neighbors She refused to look at them.Police reports narratives 911 cds. and 9 out of 10 911 calls were unfounded with no sounds when the Sheriff arrived.Over and Over.His excuse was the neighbors had a scanner,and turned the sounds down BEFORE THE SHERIFF GOT THERE.BUT WE SHOWED THE judge EVERY 911 CD.they all SAID THE CALLS WOULD GO OVER THE AIR PRIVATELY. EVERY TIME,.DUE TO HIM TELLING THE OPERATOR THAT EVERYONE HAS A SCANNER.She refused to hear them... Music, talking, car stereos,gets to court........... but Threatening to shoot someone directly to the Sheriff. Exposing himself to a minor,(two witnesses)Shooting the neighbors dogs and cats.(One witness + pellet still in the dog) And admitted it to the judge! And has a prier two years ago(shooting another neighbors dog) Does not get any attention from the prosecutor or Judge.Despite the neighbors going to the prosecutors office, just to get literally kicked out!

I've been following this story since I first saw it on the WW website the middle of February. I don't know any of the parties involved and only know what has been written here. I'm a local who has lived in the area my entire life and in my opinion the 'good old boy" attitude is alive and well in Chelan & Douglas Counties. It saddens me that this person has been allowed to disrupt and interfere with the lives of so many people, particularly the young girl he exposed himself to. Situations like this is what reaffirms my opinion about our local law enforcement in both counties. Unfortunately, the only suggestion I have is to obtain an out of town attorney and include the Douglas County Sheriffs Office in the complaint/lawsuit. I have been looking for a picture of these lights that was referred to in the previous post but am able to locate it. Could someone please direct me. Good luck to all you dear people of Badger Mountain and know that this particular local is rooting for you.

To all of the bloggers:
I feel we need to set a few facts in order. The first being that I live in the area in question and personally would not want all the lights at my home, but the last time I checked, we all live in the United States and this is our right to choose. I believe the telescope and cameras are more for reaction than anything else.
Most of the things I have read, make me believe that two or three parties can not get along and have let this escalate to an unbelievable level.
Similar to the Hatfield & McCoy feuds of the past.
In reference to our sheriffs department, I personally know Sheriff Gjestal, and many of the deputies that have been up here on many occasions. Talking with them, I will not except that they will allow anyone to get away with breaking the law.
We should all hope that they will continue to use common sense. I believe they need to spend their time on more important issues and not on disagreements. Unfortunately, there is a county ordinance on music or loud noise day or night. If it bothers someone, it must be turned off. I cannot believe something like this was ever put in place, but it was.
I will not say one side or the other of this squabble is right or wrong.
None of us have the right to tread on another’s rights. If laws are broken and facts are there to prove it, that’s a different story. At that point, the person(s) breaking the law should be prosecuted.

Not a good idea but,when the prosecutor and sheriffs refuses to do there job i cant blame him.It's sad!The snow will be gone soon and this guy will be walking the back of everyone's property lines with his gun again like every year he has bean here! We have papers from a prominent land owners lawyer from Waterville that states this mas is there land mgr.So every year he gets to cross three parcels to the 80 acres of barren land that borders all of us threatened . Four neighbors have spoke to this Waterville businessman with no results We warned him he will be liable punitively if something bad happens,But usually this guy just sits with binoculars and watches are windows from the ridge! The Judge SHE said that is his right!

I am the girl this man exposed himself to and MY WITNESS AND I WANT A LIE DETECTOR TEST! SO THIS SICKO CAN GO TO PRISON!!!!!!! BUT THE SHERIFF SAID NO THAT I DIDN'T HAVE TO LOOK! I WAS NOT TURNING MY HEAD TO SEE A NAKED MAN. I DID NOT NOW THAT THIS WAS MY FAULT.I WILL NOT EXCEPT THAT! GIVE US A LIE DETECTOR TEST THIS GUY WAS COMPLETELY NAKED AND STARRING AT ME AND DIDN'T TRY TO COVER UP.INSTEAD HE TURNED A LITTLE SO I COULD SEE EVERYTHING AND KEPT STARRING.MINUTES LATER THE CURTAINS WERE CLOSED AND LIGHTS OUT.WE ARE SCARED TO GO TO THE BUS STOP IN FRONT OF HIS HOUSE.WILL SOMEONE HELP US PLEASE.ANY LAWYERS OUT THERE WANT TO TAKE ON THIS CROCKED COUNTY?( DOUGLAS)

I'm a kid who lives on this street and go's to that bus stop and i have cat and dogs and i heard he shoots from our driveway from this guys former friend.This makes sense because there have been a lot of holes in are dogs and cat.They keep festering and never heal. The kids on the block are terrified.

This is another clear case of the county gun thugs promise "protection" but provide none. Instead they prevent decent citizens from protecting ourselves. In a free society the neighbors would soon "explain" to the jackass how to get along, perhaps with 6 feet of good dirt for a security blanket. But the same county gun thugs who won't protect the neighbors would go out to destroy them for protecting themselves. And all in the name of "law and order." The protection racket is one of the oldest forms of organized crime.

Nudity is not illegal per-se in Washington. Exposure of a human body is only illegal of he or she intentionally makes an open and obscene exposure of his or her person knowing that such conduct is likely to cause reasonable affront or alarm. In a rural area someone wandering around naked on their own property is usually not "Indecent exposure" even if someone else walks by and sees him or her naked.
Despite your complaints, you do not seem to have been turned into a pumpkin by the sight of a human body. Human bodies are not inherently harmful. Everybody has one. If there is not a clear case of intent to affront or alarm then the sheriff is right not to get involved. There are plenty of reasonable reasons to complain, harassment of neighbors, threats, etc.
