A cool downtown spot

You're not supposed to wade in the Performing Art Center's fountain, of course, but just standing next to it can feel good on a hot night. That water really gushes, cooling about a quarter of the courtyard after the sun goes down. It's a good place to relax on these late-summer evenings.
We might have one more bout of hot weather before summer waves goodbye for good. If so, the fountain's concrete levels make good spots to read a cool book while sipping a cool drink.
