Final Weekend for The Final Adventure
Blog: Director's Desk
June 2, 2010
It's always a melancholy time as you near the end of a show's run. It's akin to watching a beautiful sunset at the end of a long, summer day. The sunset gets more and more glorious as it dips below the horizon and then, suddenly, it's gone. You take a deep breath and let the beauty of it stay with you for as long as possible.
We're not quite to the end yet, but with only two more performances on Friday and Saturday, we're pretty close. I've spent countless hours with these precious people delving into characters, dreaming up sets, coordinating the backstage dance that's required to keep the onstage vision running smoothly...laughing, crying, bringing a story from conception to life. And then letting it go.
It's sad and glorious at the same time...like the end of a sunset.
If you haven't come to see the show, you really should. You'll have a great time. For all of you who have come, THANK YOU! We have had wonderful audiences for the show and if you'd like to be notified of our future performances, drop us an email at office@missioncreekplayers.org.
I'll still be posting because, believe it or not, there's still work to do once the show closes and I want you to get the full meal deal on this directing thing. Remember...you don't tell and actor "good luck," you tell them "break a leg!"
See you at the Pressroom!
