Closing Night
Blog: Director's Desk

What a fantastic night! The audience just kept coming. The Pressroom is a small theatre and we had 88 folks packed in to see the final performance. A big thank you to all of you who came to see the show. Actors and crew love to play and have fun on stage but it doesn't mean anything without the audience members to enjoy what we've worked so hard to produce.
Everything went like clockwork last night with the cast and crew working to make it the best performance they could--to enjoy living in 1890s London for one more night.
I feel melancholy but at the same time, very satisfied. What a wonderful experience! I have made new friends who I hope I will keep forever. I think everyone has forged strong friendships, if they hadn't already in previous shows.
I encourage all of you to at one point in your life to get involved in the theatre in one way or another. It is a melting pot of people and passions and creativity, and creates memories that will last you a lifetime.

Today is "tear down" which is when you take down the set, put all props and costumes in their place and give the house a good cleaning. All part of the job of directing a show and the cast and crew all come down to lend a hand. So more posts to come.
