Missing the Cast and Crew

I've said it before and I'll say it again: theatre is like a family. You start out strangers (unless you've worked with these folks before, but at some point you were strangers) and as you make your way through the artistic journey to bring a show to life, you become very bonded as a group. You see each other at your best and at your worst. You learn to forgive and move on. You learn to support each other when you're down and cheer each other on when times are glorious.
This the the first week after the show has closed and it seems very strange that I won't be getting together with everyone at the theatre to do a show. I miss Holmes and Prince, the Larrabees and King and Watson. I miss seeing the stagehands playing cards backstage and joking with Lisa, the stage manager. I'll be getting together next week with Irene Adler to get our hair "did" by Lyndsey at Rockin' Hair. I mean...we all became a part of each other's lives. It's hard to let go.

But, you know what? That means it was an awesome experience. It's like falling in love. The experience is worth the risk.
Yesterday, TJ, Mike and I returned props and furniture to the Music Theatre of Wenatchee just in time for the opening of "The Woes of Being a Wallace." I love how the community theatres around here work together. Go see the show!
And my job is nearly done. Drycleaning of costumes is complete and I just need to return them to their rightful places.
