Auditions--time to get onstage and give it what ya got!
Blog: Director's Desk
February 27, 2011
So audtions are coming up on March 7 and 8 for "Who Will Remember William Weston." I really look forward to auditions as a director. You never know who will walk in the door. I particularly love working with new actors, people who are giving it a shot for the first time. It's one of the things that's so wonderful about community theatre--it opens up the art form to everyone.
Auditioning can be very scary. You're being judged and that's no fun. But if directors are like me, they are looking for not just acting chops, but flexibility and easy-goingness (is that a word?). You're putting together a team of people and will be living with them for three months putting a play together. You're looking for people who click.
That said, everyone has a shot. Auditioning itself is a good experience--gets you out of your comfort zone and doing something new. So please consider this an open invitation to come and give it a shot. This is going to be a fun play!
