Town Toyota Center NCW High School Basketball Showcase
Blog: Entiat Tiger PRIDE!
December 14, 2009
On December 10th the Entiat Tigers participated in the Town Toyota Center NCW High School Basketball Showcase, playing the Waterville Shockers.
With around 200 spectators supporting the Entiat Tigers, the four teams went for the challenge. The Lady Tigers won the game with a score of 73-16. They seemed to step up to the challenge as a team and shared several of the points. It was as though they could do nothing wrong that night. Hopefully they gave us a look at what their year might be like. Leading scorers were Micaiah Hodge with 15 points/1 rebound, Mandy Southard 14 points/4 rebounds, Taylor Montgomery 13 points/5 rebounds, Maritza Diaz 10 points/2rebounds, Nicole Bahena 8 points/4 rebounds, Tomi Lamb 5 points/2 rebounds, Darriean Anson 4 points/4 rebounds, Tirrell Buckingham and Emily Wooldridge with 2 points.
The Guys played a real good game with the Shockers as well, with a score of 59-34. The Shockers put up a real fight. It looks as though we might have a great year of being on the edge of your seat the entire game in store for us. The leading scorers were Dylan Crawley with 23 points/7 rebounds/4 blocks, Angel Avelar 14 points/5 rebounds, Billy Edwardson 6 points/5 rebounds/4 blocks, Angel Paz 4 points, D.J. Ledbeter 3 points, Nathan Spies 3 points, Jacob Hothan, Sean Sanders and Garrett Kamphaus all with 2 points.
Town Toyota Center also awarded several awards for the evening Mandy Southard and Dylan Crawly received the sportsmanship awards for their games, and the Entiat Band tied with Waterville for the Pep Band Award for the first game. Attendance and cheer also received awards as well.
On Saturday after all ten teams had played, awards were handed out for Overall best and Entiat earned a 2nd place and $600.00 scholarship for our ASB. 1st place went to Chelan and Cashmere took 3rd. Thank you Teams, Fans, Pep Band and Cheerleader, it was a great Team effort!
