End of Basketball Season

Blog: Entiat Tiger PRIDE!

As you well know by now the basketball season is over. All in all it was a great year. With both the boys and girls winning Districts and both traveling to the State Tournament over in Spokane earlier this month. Our hopes were high as well as our spirits. However after the first night it didn't look so great, with the girls loosing and boys squeaking by a miracle win. But it's alright they gave it their all and they should be proud of their accomplishments. It was an experience that they will have forever. The boys left the match after three games and the girls made it through four games, placing 8th in the State! We are all very proud of both the boys and girls.

Sometimes we look at the wins and losses and we don't see the other things that may have come out of the games. I would like to let you know about the sportsmanship awards that were handed out. At the State competition each game a person from each team is awarded a sportsmanship award, it's a very positive thing, with the games being so intense. It's good to see the kids win yes, but it's also good to see them keep a good attitude and uplift others along the way. Those kids who received awards were, Taylor Montgomery, Mandy Southard, and Maritza Diaz. For the boys Dylan Crawley, Robert Whitehall, Nathan Spies and DJ Ledbeter. Great Job!

We would also like to thank all of those who supported the teams, the people who came and watched, those that listened on the radios, computers, and spread the word through the phone lines. It's so great to see the community of Entiat believe in these kids and support them all the way. Thank you for that. Please continue to support the spring events that will be coming soon.
