Locally, a Subaru first

Here’s something that’ll rev your engine:

Last week, Cascade Autocenter in Wenatchee received the very first 2012 Subaru Impreza — yep, the first one in the nation — and sold it straight-away to a happy driver from Peshastin.

“This is a first for our dealership and really an honor,” said Glen Carlson, Cascade’s marketing manager. “All the stars had to align for us to be honored in this fashion — it’s the first of thousands and thousands that will be sold in the coming year.”

Carlson said those lined-up stars included Cascade’s sparkling record for customer service, the dealership’s high market penetration (number of Subarus per capita) and the fact that “we found the right car for the right customer — it’s what’s she was looking for.”

On Nov. 9, Julie Blazquez of Peshastin got the keys to her new 2012 Impreza 2.0i Premium, the five-door, 36-mpg model with all wheel drive and a very tasteful dark gray paint job. (Yeah, yeah, the one in the photo is red.)

A video of her receiving the car showed her as an excited, grinning Impreza owner.

“I came to buy a car, and this is so much more than I expected,” said Julie about the hubbub surrounding the sale — speeches from Subaru reps, the car wrapped with a cover and bow. “I’m amazed that the (Subaru people) put this all together, and we’re the first to get an Impreza. I’m overwhelmed.”

I’m confident Ms. Balzquez will enjoy her Subaru; they are great cars. I took my Mom’s Subaru to Cascade last week for a new head gasket (whatever that is). Cascade demonstrated first class service, a loaner car, professional employees and quality repairs. Even though her Subaru is a late model, anything can go wrong…I’ll go back to Cascade, and I’ll wager Ms. Balzquez will too.
