Grr! Real bears coming to Town Toyota Center

Forget the Wenatchee Wild. Real live bears are coming to Town Toyota Center.
Selah-based Shuyler Productions will hold the first Wenatchee Valley Sportsmen Show at the arena Feb. 22 to 24, and bears are on the schedule.
That’s right. In addition to aisles loaded with sports gear, fishing boats, guns and ammo and displays for guides and lodges, the Great Bear Show — a wild-animal educational outfit from Bozeman, Mont. — will be there with talks, demos and “bears just being bears,” according to the Great Bear website.
The bears are mostly orphaned cubs (mommas killed by hunters, says the website) who now as adults live the good life for most of the year on a 200-acre ranch. Every year, they pack their fur coats to travel the sport show circuit to give folks some ursine education.
Info on the local Sportsmen Show — hours and admission, speakers and seminars — has yet to be announced. But Schuyler Productions also holds shows in Yakima and the Tri-Cities, where admission is $8 and attractions include a fly-casting pool, antler competition, trout races, dog pulls, trailer backing-up contest and other stuff.
