Suck on this Jawbreaker reissue

Blog: Give It a Spin

Straight from Prefix Magazine, news has been revealed that Jawbreaker's understated debut album, "Unfun" (1990), is being reissued and expanded for its 20th anniversary.

The CD, by drummer Adam Pfahler's Blackball Records, is set for release March 30 in digital, CD and vinyl formats.

An enhanced version of the punk rock trio's 1995 album "Dear You" — the final and most mainstream of the bunch — was released on the label in 2004 with five additional songs. The release followed 2002's "Etc.," a collection of A-sides, B-sides, outtakes and more from the band's four studio albums.

Jawbreaker's remaining two records are "24 Hour Revenge Therapy" and "Bivouac." No word is out on whether reissues are in the future for these two underdogs, but I wouldn't be surprised if there's a boxed set someday with all their material combined. Their career, which also includes one live album, makes for a perfectly-sized and affordable (not to mention totally worthwhile) collection.
