I jumped at the chance (I think I actually did come out of my chair) of playing a round of golf at Sahalee Country Club in Sammamish last Tuesday as part of media day for the U.S. Senior Open that comes up the end of July. I had walked the course while photographing the PGA tournament in 1998 so it was great to be on the holes I watched the pros playing.

In addition to getting on that beautiful golf course, I played with three quality gentlemen from Wenatchee - Chad Sangster, Dusty Broderson, and Dusty's son, Jordan. They were at the event because Jordan is being honored for winning numerous Special Olympics state golf tournaments, representing Special Olympics, a benefactor of the tournament.

It was raining off and on during the afternoon but nothing could keep all of us from having a great time. I was able to get some photographs of Jordan golfing the course for an upcoming feature about his accomplishments. He has a very pretty draw to his shot but like most playing in the event a few shots ended up in the forest.

Just a gorgeous place to play golf (and a little work).
