On my first day back from two weeks of vacation bliss, I went to a hearing of the elections board of Chelan County where a local blogger had challenged the county assessor with living outside the county she was serving - specifically claiming to be a voter in Chelan County yet not living there. To be honest, I wasn't expecting much. I mean, it was held in the county elections office. So when I arrived, my principal goal was to get a photograph of the assessor and blogger in the same frame which was actually pretty easy.

Then I photographed the board's show of hands as they determined the assessor wasn't actually a resident of Chelan County.

But after the vote, and understandably, the assessor became emotional as I think it sunk in that she wouldn't be able to hold that position any more.

On my way out of the courthouse, I went by her office and decided to photograph the sign in the hallway. I also noticed that they had closed the assessor's office for an hour, putting up a notice and locking up the doors.

I could see the assessor through the glass door but couldn't get the sign on the door and her in focus in the same frame.

But I stuck around until she came out, headed across the hallway to another room.

Thinking of it later, it would have been a better photograph of her coming out of her office with the sign on the door showing - in the wide angle version.

thanks w/w for opening up a can of worms to an unhappy guy that has nothing better to do than cause someone else to loose there job.chuck slowe get a life. now you can pay for her unemployment
