I've photographed a lot of wet lately - feeling like a photojournalist from the Seattle area although I doubt they include water in their photographs as much as I do.

On Tuesday, I was in East Wenatchee looking for a photograph in the rain, driving back and forth around the mall and noticed a small river developing in the Sears parking lot. I parked and waited, photographing a woman walking by. I waited longer as the water got deeper and deeper as Brian Lumsden popped out the side door of the store and started walking across the lot, staring at the river of water, trying to find a way around it. Eventually, he began running and took a leap to try to clear it as I laid down on the shutter. This is the best shot I came out with. A different photo has better body English but is slightly out of focus.

Later in the day I headed down to Walla Walla Point Park after Christine Pratt called me and let me know the bridge was under water. I found Bill Bickerstaff hitting tennis balls to his dogs nearby. I kept the bridge and spit of land in the background of the photographs.

I thought I was going to avoid a weather shot yesterday as I went to Rocky Reach Dam for an education program but it began to rain and the kids were handed garbage bags.

Oh well, I'll keep shooting pictures of what's handed me - rain or shine.

Water

Great water photos. The river has been amazing.
