A tent and a banjo

Blog: Living Images

Near the end of my shift on Monday, I drove to Albertsons looking for a church food drive. I had made a call last week to the pastor of the church to find out what they would be doing and when they would be doing it, knowing that he planned to spend the week there in a tent. I happened to arrive at the same time he was setting up his shelter. Good timing I thought, getting him doing something and the tent being put on the asphalt parking lot.

But the thing that made this picture better was halfway through his putting up his tent, Jake Bullis, a member of the church, showed up and started playing his banjo on the truck used to store donations. I love it when something odd happens to make a scene a bit quirky.
