Exciting Wine Country Coming Events

The local wine scene is evolving and changing almost daily as new wineries open, new wine associations form and existing ones reorganize and change. One very active and relatively new group, the Columbia River Wine Country, has changed its name to Wenatchee Wine Country, and is planning several activities for the upcoming late winter months.
On February 13 from 1-5 p.m., a Red Wine & Chocolate tasting event will be held at the Sleeping Lady in Leavenworth. Cost is $15 per person for 8 tastes of wine, including chocolate from the chef at the Sleeping Lady. People with a x-country ski ticket can get an additional taste. Tasting rooms will also be open with red wine and chocolate on Feb. 12-13-14. A nominal fee may be charged at the wineries.
On March 2, a wine dinner co-sponsored with the WSU Alumni Association will be held at the Conservatory at Apple Annie's in Cashmere.
In addition, as a fund-raiser for the Mike Utley Foundation , the wineries are planning "Wenatchee Wine Week" for March 15-20, with special tasting events, cooking and wine-pairing demonstrations.
This is but one group's offering of events coming here in our own NCW wine country. More will be posted as information comes in.
