One more reason to make it from scratch

In case you didn't know, the FDA is recalling a host of products that contain hydrolyzed vegetable protein (HVP) because they may be contaminated with ... salmonella. "That sounds gross. I don't eat HVP," you say. Well, yeah, you do and so do I.

The food additive which helps things taste savory, just like MSG, is included in all sorts of packaged goods, especially dressings and dip and dressing and dip mixes. And taquitos. And boullion. And honey mustard pretzels. And chips. The list goes on and on.

For your sake, I suggest you check out the link above (in blue font) and make sure you're not eating or planning to eat the products listed. Just sayin'.
