August, my favorite month. Why? Usually triple digit temps and that's when the Warped Tour hits the area. It has been announced that the "Seattle" show will be Saturday, August 4th however they haven't designated a venue as of yet, they just state "Seattle". Hopefully the show will be at "The Gorge" but more on that later.

Today, they announced the first bands that are schedule to play The Warped Tour. The bands that I list are scheduled to play "Seattle" on August 4th.

The first five bands announced are "Memphis May Fire", "The Silver Comet", "Chelsea Grin", "Sleeping With Sirens" and "Bayside." Three of the bands are your basic screaming metal bands and one "The Silver Comet", from what I've been able to find is just a band, nothing special, however for me, "Bayside" shows some promise as they have a sense of humor and their music has a punk feel to it. The following video was at Warped Tour 2009 where they came on stage impersonating NOFX...

The next video is "Sick, sick, sick" one of their latest tunes.

I know it's early in the band announcements, but I really hope more punker type bands make it onto the line up instead of all the screaming emo/metal bands as in years past. Time will tell. Either way the count down to a rockin' good time has begun.
