There's heavy metal then, from Germany, there's "Compressorhead". The band started as a semi-solo act in 2007 featuring "Stickboy" on drums with his side kick "Stickboy Jr" on hi-hat. In 2009 in seemed apparent that being a solo drum artist wasn't cutting it so guitarist "Fingers" was added. After some more playing they realized they needed some more rhythmic bottom end and "Bones" was added on bass in 2012.

What makes this band a bit different is these guys ain't human, can you say robotic?

"Stickboy" (right) is the drummer. He has four arms, two legs, one head and plays a 14 piece Pearl kit with a double kick.

"Stickboy Jr." (above) is in charge of the hi-hat.

"Fingers" (right) is the guitarist. He has 78 purpose built hydraulic actuated fingers, enough to play the entire fret board and pluck.

"Bones" (above) is the bassist playing a Fender precision. He only has eight fingers because let’s face it, playing bass is not that hard (I speak from experience).

Musically they are very good but they are lacking a bit as they could use a vocalist as currently all their renditions are instrumentals. Who knows, there may be one in their future.

They are this weeks "Weird Band Of The Week" from the website "The Weirdest Band In The World" and are currently on tour in Australia playing the "Big Day Out 2013" tour. Their current set list is:

They do have a few video's out there with their latest being my favorite. The Ramones "Blitzkrieg Bop".

And their first video, Motorhead "Ace Of Spades".

I also found an early video when Compressorhead was just "Stickboy" and he used a couple of dancers to help him out with his set.

It'd be a bit of a trip to see these "guys" live. It'll be interesting to see if any automated "copy cat" bands appear in the next few years, maybe a Japanese version, you never know. I'm also curious as to what the cost factor was in the "making" of this band.
