After viewing a picture like this, it almost feels criminal to realize there are many who think this is the perfect place to develop and build a yacht club.
If this is the same Porter's Pond that existed in the 50's & 60's on the east side of the Columbia River, in East Wenatchee, this is the pond I grew up playing in and around. My father still lives across the street from the river bank that borders Porter's Pond. Diane Leedy Gruber
Yup, the gravel pit. That is what made Porter's Pond. It is amazing what nature will do if you leave it alone and I agree, this is no place for a yacht club or any other development.
You know, Frank, a person couldn't make up and paint a picture this perfect, with the position of the clouds, the reflections and the fall colors. I don't know the place and so have never seen it, but it is now a place I like and will return to view many more times. I got my print of the blue gate today, too.
It is SO pleasant to read positive comments for a change--not that there are negative ones here, Frank, but I just read some very unnecessary ones on a simple, newsy little article.
I look at this picture every day because it makes me feel good.
