Two trips up Horselake Road

Cold but not freezing. Gain a little elevation and you find yourself in a frozen landscape. Gain a little more elevation and it gets warmer...at least that's what I noticed today. On the hillsides surrounding Wenatchee there was a frozen section, frost and ice clinging to the fences, plants and rocks with warmer areas above and below. The picture above demonstrates this phenomena, a white stripe can be clearly seen on the hills. The picture is taken from the zone of freezing near the top of Horselake Road.
Ice clings to stem. I used a 50mm lens with an extension tube to get a closer view of the ice structures. This photo was taken yesterday.
Like I said it was cold...but not this cold. I used a blue filter to give the impression of a freezescape. My daughter Erin and I spent a few minutes taking pictures and then headed back to Wenatchee for some coffee!
