The end of the beginning

Now that the Wenatchee wrestling team's regular season is over, the real season can begin.
Anyone who knows prep wrestling knows that however successful it may be, the regular season is all prelude to the postseason, when champions are crowned.
Still, Wenatchee's rout of Kennewick tonight ended with a soaking of Wenatchee coach Ed Valdez, as his troops gleefully dumped a bucket of water on him.
"We weren't sure we should do it, because he's probably going to make us run," junior Isaac Gates said. "It was worth the running."
The road to Mat Classic starts right here, with the district tournament at WHS next Friday and Saturday.
Here are some notable Panther win-loss records entering the postseason, along with applicable state classification rankings, (Class 4A) where applicable, courtesy of Coach Valdez and Washington Wrestling Report.
