Washington sparklers

If your looking for a sparkler to ignite your New Year's Eve or New Year's Day events, you don't need to look far from home.
Most people who enjoy fine bubbly already know about Domaine Ste. Michelle's wonderful array of champagne-method wines. They are delicious, top rated, very reasonably priced and widely available in a variety of styles that will suit nearly every taste. And, of course, they're made in Washington, by the state's largest winery, Ste. Michelle Wine Estates.
But there are a few of our own North Central Washington wineries also producing exciting sparklers.
Karma Vineyards has three methode champenoise (fermented in the bottle) bubblies to choose from, all from 2009 grapes: Brut, Brut de Brut and Estate Pink, $40 to $47.
Hard Row to Hoe makes a methode champenoise Brut Rose, "Good in Bed," from estate grown sangiovese and pinot noir, $40.
Cave B Estate Vineyards makes its Estate Blanc de Blanc from 100 percent estate grown chardonnay. It's an exceptional buy at $25.
Have a great New Year!!
