The 2023 NCAA Tournament continues with the start of the second round on Saturday, March 18. The field will continue to shrink and considering what has already transpired, nothing should surprise anyone as the Sweet 16 begins to take shape.
Saturday's action will be broadcast on CBS, TBS, and TNT and be available to stream via March Madness Live and other services. Following four upsets along seed lines on Thursday and a historic one on Friday, pretty much everyone's bracket has already been busted, but you don't want to miss what happens next. Will this year's Cinderella be revealed? Are any of the remaining No. 1 seeds in danger of joining a very exclusive club that no team wants to be a part of?
So if you're wondering, "What NCAA Tournament games are on today?" know this: There are eight scheduled for Saturday, March 18.
Note: All times are ET, some start times are approximate.
South Region: No. 13 Furman (28-7) vs. No. 5 San Diego State (28-6)
12:10 p.m. on CBS — Amway Center (Orlando, Fla.)
Why You Should Watch: Furman pulled off the first upset, taking down No. 4 Virginia thanks to an improbable late steal and game-winning 3-pointer. San Diego State avoided the upset bug against No. 12 Charleston and is the last team standing of the four from the Mountain West that got a bid. Paladins haven't made it past the second round in the NCAA Tournament since 1974 while the Aztecs are aiming for their first Sweet 16 appearance since 2014.
East Region: No. 5 Duke (27-8) vs. No. 4 Tennessee (24-10)
2:40 p.m. on CBS — Amway Center (Orlando, Fla.)
Why You Should Watch: Duke stayed hot with a comfortable victory over No. 12 Oral Roberts on Thursday. Tennessee built an 18-point lead over No. 13 Louisiana but had to hold on late to escape. Volunteers will need to clean up the turnovers (18 vs. Ragin' Cajuns) and free-throw shooting (12-for-21, 57.1 percent) with the Blue Devils playing as well as they are right now.
West Region: No. 8 Arkansas (21-13) vs. No. 1 Kansas (28-7)
5:15 p.m. on CBS — Wells Fargo Arena (Des Moines, Iowa)
Why You Should Watch: Arkansas used its defense to wear down No. 9 Illinois but that's going to be much harder against a Kansas team that put up 96 points in its first-round rout of No. 16 Howard. The Razorbacks are going to have to shoot the ball better (38.1 percent overall, 27.1 percent from 3-point range vs. Fighting Illini) if they want to upset the defending national champions.
South Region: No. 15 Princeton (22-8) vs. No. 7 Missouri (25-9)
6:10 p.m. on TNT — Golden 1 Center (Sacramento, Calif.)
Why You Should Watch:Â Princeton has already represented the Ivy League well with a stunning upset of No. 2 Arizona, a team many had making it all the way to the Final Four, if not further. Now it's a matchup of Tigers as Missouri is hoping for its first Sweet 16 berth since 2009. The last time Princeton even played in the second round was in 1983.
7:10 p.m. on TBS —Legacy Arena at BJCC (Birmingham, Ala.)
Why You Should Watch: Houston had a tougher time than expected with No. 16 Northern Kentucky as star guard Marcus Sasser was pulled from the game before halftime after aggravating his groin injury. His status will be critical as the Cougars are getting an Auburn team that shot the ball well (46 percent) in its win over No. 8 Iowa.
Midwest Region: No. 10 Penn State (23-13) vs. No. 2 Texas (27-8)
Why You Should Watch: Penn State looked impressive in its first NCAA Tournament game since 2011, dispatching No. 7 Texas A&M by 17 points and now gets to face another team from the Lone Star State. Texas coasted to a 20-point win over No. 15 Colgate behind some blistering 3-point shooting (13-for-23). The Nittany Lions fared even better from beyond the arc (13-for-22), so this one could come down to whichever team maintains the hot hand.
West Region: No. 7 Northwestern (22-11) vs. No. 2 UCLA (30-5)
7:35 p.m. on truTV — Golden 1 Center (Sacramento, Calif.)
Why You Should Watch: Northwestern picked up its second-ever NCAA Tournament win with a nice effort against No. 10 Boise State and now looks to advance to the Sweet 16 for the first time. But standing in the Wildcats' way is a UCLA team with plenty of postseason experience that barely broke a sweat in taking care of No. 15 UNC Asheville by 33 points on Thursday night.
South Region: No. 8 Maryland (22-12) vs. No. 1 Alabama (30-5)
12:15 p.m. on CBS — Legacy Arena at BJCC (Birmingham, Ala.)
Why You Should Watch:Â Overall No. 1 seed Alabama rolled to a 21-point win over No. 16 Texas A&M-Corpus Christi despite getting zero points from SEC Player of the Year Brandon Miller, who is reportedly dealing with an injury. Maryland showed plenty of resolve in overcoming a 12-point, first-half deficit and then making the necessary plays late in the Terrapins' two-point victory over No. 9 West Virginia. If Miller isn't at full strength the Crimson Tide could be ripe for an upset.
