WENATCHEE — Parents and members of the general public are invited to learn about Lewis & Clark Elementary School’s dual-language program at an information session, from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Aug. 21.
In the school’s dual language immersion program, half the classes each day are in Spanish and the other half in English. The school has about 400 students from kindergarten through fifth grade.
In addition to information about the school’s program, bilingual education expert and researcher Richard Gómez will share insights on how dual-language programs prepare students as future bilingual, bicultural and biliterate members of society.
Gómez has spent the past 20 years evaluating and perfecting his dual-language education model which is now being implemented in more than 700 schools across the country.
The information session is in the school’s multipurpose room, 1130 Princeton Ave. Light refreshments will be provided.
