WENATCHEE — Wenatchee Valley College is hosting an event celebrating Día de los Muertos on Monday.

The free event will take place from noon to 2 p.m. in the Van Tassell Center on campus. Día de los Muertos — Day of the Dead — is celebrated in Mexico, Central and South America to remember loved ones who have died.

An altar will be displayed in the Van Tassell Center until Nov. 1, and people are invited to place pictures and items on it to remember their loved ones. The event will also feature skull decorating, tissue flower making and traditional Mexican food.
