NCW — High school students can enter the Washington Apple Education Foundation’s annual “Year of the Apple” art contest.

The contest, sponsored by Corteva Agriscience, is open to students in Adams, Benton, Chelan, Douglas, Franklin, Grant, Kittitas, Okanogan, Walla Walla and Yakima counties.

First place will receive $1,000, and that artwork will be made into a poster-sized calendar. Second place will receive $500, and third place will receive $250. Each winner’s art class/teacher will also receive a $150 Amazon gift card for art supplies.

Deadline is May 1 and artwork should be mailed to Washington Apple Education Foundation, C/O Art Contest, 2900 Euclid Ave., Wenatchee, WA 98801.
