The town of Waterville may be going from three commercial zones to two and allowing retail stores within tourist commercial zones.

The Waterville Town Council directed the Planning & Zoning Commission to look at simplifying its commercial zones, such as by removing the highway commercial zone entirely, said Kurt Danison, Waterville town planner. This is because only one area in Waterville, near the Exxon station, is zoned for highway commercial.
