OROVILLE — The Waterville/Mansfield volleyball team earned another road victory on Oct. 7 against the host Oroville Hornets.

The Shockers won 25-15, 18-25, 25-18, 25-19 and it was the first win that didn’t go all five sets for Waterville/Mansfield this season.

The win brings the Shockers to 3-2 in Central Washington 2B League play, good for third in the league behind powerhouse teams such as Brewster and Tonasket.

Melissa Flaget could not be reached for comment via telephone but added that Alex Poppie led the team with 10 kills and that Ari Salcido added 9 kills of her own. Salcido also had 5 aces from the service line. Sarah Mullen led the Shockers with 17 assists at the setter position.

Waterville/Mansfield traveled to Lake Roosevelt to take on the Raiders on Oct. 10 and will host Tonasket on Oct. 12 before hosting the Eagles of Soap Lake on Oct. 17.
