Public invited to bid in arts auction

The public is invited to bid on a variety of local art works as part of the Chelan Arts Council’s Arts Festival Silent Auction at the Chelan Public Library. On June 22, the auction will move to the Arts Festival at Riverwalk Park. Bidding closes at 3 p.m. June 23.

The silent auction includes works in various mediums by Diane Paton Peel, Cameron Elder, Dean Rainey, Dee Dee Cleveland, Gary Rittenmeyer, and Jeff and Maureen Hanson.

The Lake Chelan Arts Festival is June 22-23 at Riverwalk Park.

High school student earns honorable mention at statewide art show

Anahi A Castillo-Leavitt of Okanogan High School earned an honorable mention for her work “YUM” in the 46th Annual Superintendent’s High School Art Show sponsored by the Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction.

Castillo-Leavitt was among six students state-wide recognized by honorable mention. Her teacher is Dan Brown.
