WENATCHEE — The Art Alley at Pybus Public Market, 3 N. Worthen St., Wenatchee, features a selection of art by Jen Evenhus this month.
Evenhus’ award-winning work has been included in national and international juried exhibits. She received Best of Show in the 2020 Northwest Pastel Society 34th Annual International Juried Exhibition.
Pastel and oil artist Evenhus has a trademark teaching program called “the beauty of imperfection,” which uses bold color techniques refined with negative painting.
After 15 years of teaching pastel workshops, Evenhus adopted virtual workshops during the pandemic closures. Her artistic style is contemporary with abstract leanings, representing florals, palms, radishes, landscapes and seascapes.
Evenhus is a member of the Pastel Society of America, International Association of Pastel Societies, Northwest Pastel Society, Pastel Society of the West Coast, American Impressionist Society and Knickerbocker Artists USA.
Evenhus discovers magic in her subjects with simplification and exaggeration, and intense and subtle hues in both pastel and oils.
