UMC to host Spring Tea event Saturday

The Cashmere United Methodist Church invites the community to its annual Spring Tea event 1 to 3 p.m. May 11 at the church, 213 S. Division St.

Admission is free, and tea and cookies will be served.

A free raffle is planned, as well as vocal entertainment and a collection of antique dolls. Guests are invited to bring their favorite doll to share.

PREPARES receives grant

PREPARES of Central Washington, a program of Catholic Charities, has been awarded a $25,000 grant by Our Sunday Visitor Institute (OSV) for PREPARES en Español, a project devoted to developing leadership and support to Spanish speaking communities.

The funding will help support a bilingual coordinator who will implement PREPARES en Español in eight parishes, training Spanish-speaking volunteers and Family Companions to walk the parenting journey with the family.

They will provide services to low-income Hispanic families, including those in migrant camps when parents are working in the fields.

Breath of Aire to perform at Wenatchee First Assembly

The Wenatchee First Assembly of God will be hosting the Breath of Aire benefit concert 6 p.m. May 18 at the church, 1520 McKittrick St.

The concert is free with a love offering to be taken.

Proceeds from the concert will support Hospitality Ministries Homeless Shelters.

Breath of Aire is a Pacific Northwest choir with members from around the state that have a variety of musical backgrounds and talent from first-year singers to professional musicians.
