Participate in StoryWalk at the Jacobson Preserve

StoryWalk, a joint walk from the North Central Regional Library and the Chelan-Douglas Land Trust, will take place 5:30 p.m. Monday at the Jacobson Preserve.

Explore trails and read the new StoryWalk children’s book with a library storytime on the trail in this free, family friendly trip.

The StoryWalk will take about 25 minutes and families are welcome to continue on the trail on a self-guided hike, or return to the trailhead with the guide.

Plan to wear sturdy footwear and walk on an uneven surface and narrow trail.

Parks and Rec to offer youth track and field

The Wenatchee Parks and Recreation will be holding its four-week youth track and field program May 20-June 15 for boys and girls ages 7-12.

Registration fee is $35 for city residents, $38.50 for non-residents. Each participant receives a T-shirt.

Practices will be at the Wenatchee High School track Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays 6 to 7:30 p.m.

The program will also offer track and field training, development and a meet.

Women’s Service League plans 10th annual Touch-a-Truck event

The Women’s Service League of NCW will host its 10th annual Touch-A-Truck fundraising event Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Wenatchee Valley College.

Kids and adults will have the opportunity to interact with and learn about different vehicles in a safe, supervised environment. Vehicles on site include fire trucks, cement trucks, police cars, heavy equipment, garbage trucks, tow trucks and more.

This event will provide entertainment, learning possibilities and photo opportunities for the whole family, including L-Bow the Clown, face painting, games and other fun activities.

Admission is $5 per adult, $2 dollars per child. Children under 2 are free.

Visitors will receive $1 off their total entry fee with a donation of a non-perishable food item. Military discount of $1 per family will be available.

Proceeds from this event will be donated to help local non-profit organizations that assist kids in the valley.
