Local mothers group to hold 5k fundraiser May 11
The Wenatchee Mothers of Preschoolers group will hold its annual Run for your Mother 5K fundraising event Saturday at Walla Walla Point Park.
The fundraising event will include a kids 1K Fun Run which starts at 8:30 a.m., free for children 12 and under.
The 5K Adult Run will begin at 9 a.m. and is $35 to register for ages 12 and up.
Swag bags will be available for the first 100 participants, in addition to an auction, a bake sale and prizes.
Proceeds from the event will help Wenatchee MOPS provide scholarships and operation supplies to support the mothers in the community while keeping membership dues the same.
Wenatchee MOPS has more than 100 local mothers and meets every two weeks. Each meeting provides free childcare to children ages infant to 5 to ensure members can enjoy a hot breakfast, speakers, creative projects, service outreach projects and more.
