Bob and Jan Peterson of Wenatchee celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with a reception at the United Steelworkers Union Hall in Rock Island on Saturday.

Jan Purdy married Bob Peterson June 5, 1963, in Poplar, Mont.

The couple have lived in Ephrata, Colfax, Leavenworth and Wenatchee during their marriage.

They are the parents of a daughter, Debra LaPan of Sale Creek, Tenn.; a son, Pete Peterson of West Memphis, Ark.; a son and daughter-in-law, Kirk and Shelly Peterson of East Wenatchee; and a daughter and son-in-law, Wendy and Micheal Miller of Renton.

He worked as a Washington State Patrol trooper and as a school bus driver for Cascade and Eastmont school districts.

She was a secretary and clerk for the state Department of Transportation and the City of Leavenworth.

They have eight grandchildren.
