Learn how to can and preserve food at the Wenatchee River Institute
Join the Wenatchee River Institute this fall for an outdoor, in-person Fall Preserving Class from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sept. 26 in Leavenworth.
Learn how to safely preserve food at home by learning basics of both boiling water bath and pressure canning. The class will be taught by experienced canner and food preserver Julia Pinnix. She cans year-round and has a background in restaurant food preparation and state food-handling certifications.
The class will be held outside at Pinnix’s house and an optional carpool will be provided to travel from the WRI. Masks are required for the class
Cost is $50 for members of the WRI or $60 for non-members. Workshop is limited to 10 participants. For more information or to register online, visit wenatcheeriverinstitute.org.
