Columbia Concrete Pipe Company opened for business in the fall of 1932 in this plant located at the corner of Ninth and Walla Walla Streets. It was here that the company's first ready-mix concrete was made around 1934-35 by the use of a small mixer and a two-wheel cart. The mix was hauled in a dump truck. The business was the predecessor to Columbia Concrete Products.

The intersection of Ninth and Walla Walla Streets now includes a storage area for the Wenatchee Row & Paddle Club and the Riverside 9 apartments as seen on Nov. 8, 2021.
