Our March Business World monthly has a feature article on Cashmere and

its history, a town that changed its name early in the 20th century.

A copy of the Cashmere Daily Record of 1912 carries a load of the town’s early leaders and its push for growth.

Back then there were 3,500 irrigated acres around the town, mostly planted to apples at that time. Winesaps were the number one apple variety, followed by Delicious, Rome, Jonathan, and Spitz.
