Panthers baseball squad downs Davis, can clinch state with win against Eastmont

WENATCHEE — The Wenatchee Panthers baseball squad’s offense has come a long way since the beginning of the season, and that could make all the difference as it looks to return to state.

The Panthers’ bats carried them to another big victory late in the season, this time in a 9-5 victory over the Davis Pirates Friday at Rec Park in the opening round of districts. Wenatchee had a number of timely hits and a six-run second inning in the victory. It faces the Eastmont Wildcats today in a loser-out winner to state contest at Moses Lake.
