WENATCHEE — Once a rowdy celebration notorious for hundreds of cruising-related arrests, the Washington State Apple Blossom Festival is now just business as usual, as far as police are concerned.

Over the last four years, Wenatchee Police have averaged about 186 calls for service and 35 total charges or infractions during the Grand Parade weekend — a far cry from 1,717 in 1993.

This year, there was a dip in calls (down 11 from 2018) and charges/infractions (down eight from 2018).

The department released data Thursday comparing recent festivals.
