Drivers line up for COVID-19 tests in the parking lot of the Town Toyota Center on Tuesday. The testing site experienced an overwhelming demand earlier in the day, forcing it to temporarily shut down and hand out at-home testing kits.  The Chelan-Douglas Health District plans on prioritizing testing over vaccinations.

WENATCHEE — The Chelan-Douglas Health District will be prioritizing COVID-19 testing over vaccinations and is canceling several vaccination clinics.

The health district has decided to prioritize getting all COVID-19 infectious individuals isolated at home and reducing COVID-19 case rates.

The health district on Monday will shut down its COVID-19 vaccine clinic at 110 2nd St. in East Wenatchee.

A Saturday vaccine clinic in Leavenworth is also canceled.

Low turnout, limited staff and poor weather conditions also impacted the health district’s decision to cancel some of its vaccine clinics.
