EAST WENATCHEE — Hotel staff members in East Wenatchee had an unexpected guest early Saturday morning: a cougar.

At around 12:30 a.m. Saturday, staff at the SureStay hotel, located at 580 Valley Mall Parkway, noticed the sliding door of the hotel opened without anyone coming in or out of the hotel, according to an Instagram post from the East Wenatchee Police Department.

Upon reviewing security footage, staff members saw a cougar pass through the parking lot, triggering the automatic door.

East Wenatchee police were unsuccessful in locating the animal and advised animal control. No other sightings of the cougar were reported.
