WENATCHEE — A new contender for the open seat on the Douglas County Commission officially filed Monday.

Austin Flemens, a 30-year-old Wenatchee Valley Fire Department firefighter, has filed for Commissioner Kyle Steinburg’s seat in District 2. Steinburg is not running for reelection.
