WENATCHEE — The Chelan-Douglas Health District reported on Wednesday two additional COVID-19 deaths. This brings the death toll into the triple digits in Chelan and Douglas counties, with 101 COVID-19 deaths for the two-county area.

The two deaths were both Chelan County men. Both of them were unvaccinated, said Veronica Farias, Confluence Health spokesperson, in an email.

One was in his 50s and the other was in his 70s. Both died sometime in September, according to Farias.

Confluence Health reported on Tuesday that 15 Central Washington Hospital patients have died in September due to COVID-19 so far this month. This latest surge of COVID-19 has so far resulted in the third-most deaths in a single month at the hospital, according to Confluence Health data.

The Chelan-Douglas Health District only reports on a COVID-19 death until it has been confirmed on the death certificate. That can take about three weeks, according to health officials.
