Gather your family and head out for garden-related fun from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday at WSU/Chelan Master Gardener’s Third Saturday in the Garden event.

All the fun happens at the Community Education Garden on the northwest corner of Western and Springwater avenues in Wenatchee.

Hear a story about scarlet runner beans and then plant your own to take home, check out the interesting named plants in the Winnie The Pooh garden, construct a caterpillar, go on a scavenger hunt and then end the morning by taking a swing at an apple piñata.

For visitors without children, the various themed gardens offer interest especially this time of year, and it’s fun watching children enthusiastically learning garden-related things.

For more information, visit or phone the WSU extension weekdays at 667-6540.
