NCW — Fire restrictions have been increased Tuesday in the Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest.
The forest is entering Stage Two fire restrictions starting Wednesday, according to a Forest Service news release. Those restrictions mean campfires, stove fires, briquette fires and torches are prohibited. Smoking, using any type of combustion engine, welding, discharging a firearm, using an explosive or using fireworks are also not allowed.
Pressurized or bottle liquid fuel stoves, lanterns or heating devices are permitted as long as their use is done on barren ground, 3 feet away from flammable material.
