EAST WENATCHEE — Authorities are searching for a 35-year-old man they believe tried to give a 13-year-old student a phone.

East Wenatchee police say the man on Tuesday went to Eastmont Junior High School to give a student a phone to contact him with, the department said in a news release. School officials reported him to the police about 11:30 a.m.

He allegedly returned Wednesday to retrieve the phone. He is a Kittitas County resident but is believed to be living in the Wenatchee Valley area in a white box van, the release said. Police say he’s also associated with a 1988 Ford Crown Victoria.

He’s described as a white male, 5-feet, 8-inches tall and 126 pounds.

Anyone with information regarding his location can contact RiverCom Dispatch at (509) 663-9911.
