Steven Fries, Wenatchee, replaces shingles on the front of the historic Wells House on the campus of Wenatchee Valley College on Thursday. He says the siding he is replacing dates back to its construction in 1909 by Wenatchee developer W.T. Clark. It was sold to A.Z. Wells 10 years later. Fries has been working on improvements to the building off and on for about four years.
