WENATCHEE — Two roads in Chelan County will be closed for winter starting Dec. 1 to protect mule deer habitat and prevent damage to the roads.

A portion of Oklahoma Gulch Road near Entiat and Horse Lake Road in Wenatchee will reopen on April 1, according to a county news release.

Burch Mountain Road will be closed starting Feb. 15 from milepost 1.12 to 7.48..

The closure also applies to snowmobilers. Penalties for violating the closure include up to 90 days in jail and a $1,000 fine.
